2010 witnesses the inaugural year of COOL TOUR, in association with Metal Blade, Atticus Black by Atticus Clothing, and Musician’s Institute College of Contemporary Music, and features AS I LAY DYING, UNDEROATH, BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, BLESSTHEFALL, THE ACACIA STRAIN, ARCHITECTS, CANCER BATS, and WAR OF AGES. COOL TOUR is brought to you by Ibanez, Ding, Alternative Press, altpress.com , Invisible Children,Facedown Records, Mesa Boogie, Ampeg, Live Nation, The Agency Group and Good Fight Entertainment.

COOL TOUR 2010 begins on July 12th in Orlando, FL, and comes to a halt in San Francisco, CA on August 1st. A ticket pre-sale is available beginning Tuesday, April 27th, and tickets go on sale to the public Friday, April 30th -Sunday, May 2nd. Check your local listing for on sale dates near you. Many of COOL TOUR’s notable artists had a few words to say about this exciting new festival! “After taking last summer off to focus on writing new material, we’ll be back out this year in support of our latest album, THE POWERLESS RISE,” states AS I LAY DYING guitarist Phil Sgrosso. “We’ve got a killer line up of bands that share the same passion for heavy music and putting on a great show every night for the fans. “We’re looking forward to get out on the COOL TOUR this summer,” states UNDEROATH guitarist Tim McTague. “2010 has been a transitional year for UNDEROATH, and we are looking forward to putting our new direction in motion.” McTague also adds, “COOL TOUR is the perfect place to come out and show everyone what UNDEROATH of the future will sound like.”

Tommy Giles Rogers, vocalist of BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME is beyond thrilled. “Somehow, BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, the un-coolest band on the planet, is part of a tour called COOL TOUR. Even though this will not make us become cool, we are stoked to be a part of the tour. Pumped to get back around the U.S. and melt your fucking faces off.”

Here´s what guitarist Phil Sgrosso has to say about the video that was taken from the bands first ever DVD release ‘This is Who We Are’, which just landed on the Billboard Top Music Videos Chart in both the US (#2) and Canada (#3) for first weeks sales. “We´ve talked about doing a video for I Never Wanted for quite some time now. Most videos that we´ve done have been for more fast and aggressive songs that have the usual AILD sound to it but we wanted to mix things up and do a video for a slower (but still heavy!) song that would be made up of footage from our new DVD, ´This Is Who We Are´.” “Denise Korycki filmed and directed our DVD so we thought it would be perfect for her to make a video that incorporated mostly footage from the DVD, plus some bonus stuff as well! The live footage is made up of several shows that we played in the past few years while the ´hanging out´ footage was shot mostly while we were…well…hanging out. Not much more to it, I guess! E1 Music To Release Long-Awaited New Studio Album From Metal-Hardcore Leaders Hatebreed In Fall Of 2009

Roadrunner To Release New Studio Album In All Other Territories

(New York, NY) —Metal-Hardcore juggernauts HATEBREED have re-entered the studio to begin work on its long awaited new studio album which is slated for a fall 2009 release.

HATEBREED’s follow up to 2006’s SUPREMACY will be released on E1 Music in North America and Roadrunner in all other territories. The new album will be self-titled and is shaping up to be one of the band’s most ferocious albums ever.

Frontman Jamey Jasta comments, “I can’t wait to work with E1 Music and Roadrunner International on this release — E1 did a great job with our LIVE DOMINANCE DVD and our recent covers album. We’re so pumped to give them both our new studio album!”

The announcement of the band’s new album is also part of E1’s continuing / expanding relationship with the group after its initial first 2 releases together, including the #1 charting Billboard DVD LIVE DOMINANCE and the recently released covers album, FOR THE LIONS.

The new album will be once again produced by Zeuss and will feature the return of original guitar player Wayne Lozinak (who recently replaced departed guitarist Sean Martin) alongside core members Chris Beattie (bass), Matt Byrne (drums), Frank “3 Gun” Novinec (Guitar) and singer Jamey Jasta.

Jasta continues, “The record is mean as hell, fans of American metal and east coast hardcore will be very pleased and maybe even somewhat surprised.”

The band is currently taking a breather from the recording studio and touring Europe and South America doing a series of high profile festival appearances and headline shows in before returning to the U.S. for its own headline DECIMINATION OF THE NATION tour which begins in late July and runs through September.

“Those that are fans of my infamous “Beard on Beard” interview series know that yours truly is a huge fan of a manly set of chin-whiskers. So when I found myself in the parking lot outside the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival casually chatting with the Metal Injection dudes and some dude with a ridiculously lush, full, styled piece of facial hair, I had to know more about him. Turns out this international man of mystery was vocalist J. Costa of Rhode Island metal warriors Thy Will Be Done. Mr. Costa graciously agreed to conduct an impromptu interview in which we spoke about beard grooming tactics, guys’ and girls’ differing opinions on the beard, the role of the beard as natural air conditioner, and eventually, oh, some band for which Mr. Costa happens to sing.”

Thy Will Be Done Japan Update From The Road

Rhode Island’s THY WILL BE DONE (Stillborn Records) has posted the second video update from Japan, where the band has spent the last two weeks in Japan supporting its debut release, “Was And Is To Come“. THY WILL BE DONE provided direct support for KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and played a string of headlining shows throughout the country.

Early in their Japanese trek, the band fell victim to theft when guitarist Chris Drapeau’s gear was stolen from their van. Commented vocalist J Costa: “The good heavily outweighs the bad. Our losses are monetary, but no price can be placed on the experience, opportunity and satisfaction we’ve earned playing for such great fans. Japan is a great place and we are simply blessed to be here.”

“Was And Is To Come” was released in the United States last October through Jamey Jasta’s Stillborn Records, and in Japan March 2008 through Toys Factory Records.

THY WILL BE DONE recently performed at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival prior to their East Coast tour in May supporting DYING FETUS and SWORN ENEMY.

Trivium Has Completed New Album

Trivium has finished recording their next full-length album. The effort was produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Danzig, Shadows Fall) and is currently being mixed. According to the group, “Hopefully we’ll be able to play a song or two when we hit Japan in August.” Roadrunner Records will release the new album (whose title has yet to be officially announced) on September 30th.

From Autumn To Ashes – No More

Long Island, New York’s From Autumn To Ashes has apparently called it quits, though members are refraining from using the word “break-up.” FATA frontman Francis Mark has issued the following:

“At this point I feel that we have accomplished everything we could have hoped for with FATA. It doesn’t feel much like a break up. Just feels like the end. It’s complete. I would say that we are going on indefinite hiatus because the term breakup suggests a more negative circumstance. There have been no quarrels between band members. It is also not a question of fan support because we are lucky to have some of the most loyal and impassioned friends a band could ask for. Thank you again for the overwhelming support of our last album. I’ve dedicated almost 9 years to FATA and it’s become something of a security for me.”

Notably, Mark and FATA guitarist Rob Lauritsen recently launched a new band called Warship. According to Mark, “I’m looking forward to feeling uncertain and the freedom of starting a new band that has no definition. We don’t have any expectations or specific goals with Warship. We just want to play loud, have fun and share some positive music with our friends.”

Warhip is currently in a New York studio recording their debut release with producer Andrew Schneider (Cave In, Pelican). The as-yet-untitled disc is due out on Vagrant Records later this fall.

Mark explains: “The name Warship comes from a time last year when I was making worship candles (the tall, skinny glass jar candles you get in Brooklyn dollar stores and bodegas),” continues Mark. “They have paintings of saints on one side and a prayer on the opposite. I was buying blank candles and doing my own paintings on them. A friend asked me on a phone call what had I been up to and when I said “making worship candles”, she thought that I meant candles with actual warships on them. This led me to thinking about the relationship between the two. How discouraging it is when ‘worship’ begets ‘warships’.”

BLEEDING THROUGH THE TRUSTKILL

The members of Orange County, California’s BLEEDING THROUGH have penned a guest blog for Headbanger’s Blog in which they publicly accuse their record label, Trustkill Records, of planning to re-release their “The Truth” album without their approval, of failing to pay the band royalties on time, and of only partially financing the recording sessions for the group’s forthcoming album. An excerpt from the blog follows:

“It has been months and we have kept silent. But this latest slap in the face from our supposed record label has pushed us over the edge. We just read on the Internet that Josh Grabelle [Trustkill head honcho] plans to release a ’special edition’ of our 2006 album ‘The Truth’ one month before releasing our new album.

“Let it be known that BLEEDING THROUGH is 100% against this so-called ’special’ edition. We did not approve the title, cover artwork (whatever it is), track listing or bonus features for this transparent and obvious cash-grab of a re-release from a record label that despite selling a quarter of a million of our albums worldwide is having problems.

“Over a year ago we suggested the idea of a re-release of the album to Trustkill — on our terms, of course, with our artistic vision — and he said he’d consider it if we could land a ‘big’ tour. We confirmed a tour with MARILYN MANSON and SLAYER, followed by a tour with HIM, and he said ‘NO’ to us. He thought we should put out a new album instead.

“Now we have a new album finished that we are very proud of and he wants to squeeze our fans and our band by throwing out an unapproved ’special’ edition in a fast and overt attempt to pay some bills.”

BYZANTINE – Rare Full Bootleg Concert Posted Online

Now-defunct West Virginia forward-thinking thrashers BYZANTINE have posted a rare full bootleg concert of the band recorded on June 7, 2005 in Richmond, Virginia. The group was on the road in support of its second full-length CD, “…And They Shall Take Up Serpents”, and was captured before a small crowd while opening for BURIED INSIDE and EYEHATEGOD. This was BYZANTINE’s first U.S. tour with Michael “Skip” Cromer on bass.

Hardcore/metal heroes HATEBREED enlisted legendary drummer Vinnie Paul (PANTERA, HELLYEAH, DAMAGEPLAN) to produce, document and record the band’s May 27, 2008 concert in Dallas, Texas at the Palladium Ballroom. The resultant recording will be released as HATEBREED’s live album, due before the end of the year.

“Never Let It Die” was filmed during Hatebreed’s European leg of the band’s SUPREMACY WORLD TOUR last fall. It is part live performance footage of their brutal and intense show and part candid /behind the scenes footage of the band in a more relaxed, not so serious vibe.

Jamey Jasta revealed, “The song means a lot of different things to me, but mostly it’s about the feeling of being involved in the metal and hardcore community, playing live shows and touring with so many great bands through out the years. It’s open to interpretation, but it’s basically about seizing a feeling or a moment that you cherish and not letting it slip away; hence the title “Never Let It Die”. Jasta adds, “We wanted it to be an uplifting and inspiring track and with this video we felt like we really captured the intensity of the crowd while showing how much we really enjoy and cherish doing what we do by bringing our music to the diehard metal and hardcore fans all over the world.”

The “Never Let It Die” video will be the last off the Supremacy album, which Jasta went on to explain, “we wanted to end it on a high note, since this song has been in our set for over a year it just felt right to make a video for it and we love the outcome… we hope you all enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it!”

One-Way Mirror is a brand new rock/metal band on the verge of triggering a revolution in the world of music. The band was created in 2006 when five close friends decided to join forces to create the ultimate rock/metal band: Guillaume Bideau (Mnemic), David and Franck Potvin (Lyzanxia), Dirk Verbeuren (Soilwork) and Loic Colin (Scarve).

One-Way Mirror’s self-titled debut album is nothing less than a killing machine with potential megahits, including future anthems ‘Empty Spaces’, ‘As You Are Now’, ‘Destination Device’ as well as a mind blowing rock version of ‘Relax’ by eighties band Frankie Goes To Hollywood!

One-Way Mirror recorded the drums for the album with Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah) at the Dug Out Studio while everything else was recorded at Lyzanxia’s Dome Studio/Guillaume Bideau’s Dogs In The House Studio and produced by Guillaume Bideau and David Potvin.
